stand-alone not working with external power supply

Hello all, I have a Xpress 512-PLUS setup and properly functioning when connected to the computer. After exporting scenes to the unit, they trigger properly from the remote while connected to the computer, however, once I pull the USB cable from the computer, it no longer triggers the scenes. I have a power supply connected and the blue powerlight is lit up. The IR led also lights up when I push buttons on the remote. Am I missing something to get the unit to work in standalone mode?
