Stilli: Of course you can do that. What we're saying is that you shouldn't need to. Many other lighting controllers can do this far quicker, using the system we are describing. It means that in order to create the same effect, while it would take one click and about 5 seconds on another lighting console (Martin M-PC is a good example), using ShowXpress it takes far longer and is much more involved. We'd like this new feature to simplify the process.Stilli wrote:Create your Generator Scene for one mover, create individual scenes for each other mover using the same Generator Scene. Use a Macro to trigger all scenes at the same time. The use of a Pallette will enable each Scene to be edited quickly if needed.
I'm only a beginner at this but that's the way I would tackle it.

Dude! This is really a smart workarround. Thanks!samwise309 wrote:If this is similar to what you want, do this: Make a circle curve with 4 points. Then, add four more points that overlap exactly on top of each other. So, points 1&5 will be in the same spot, 2&6 in the same spot, 3&7, 4&8. Then in the fixture order menu, rearrange your 8 movers so that each pair are in the same relative position. Basically, order your 8 movers like so: 1,2,3,4,8,7,6,5. Then, under the fixture order option is a reverse pan/tilt menu. Reverse pan whichever movers are going the wrong direction and you'll have a symmetrical movement with 4 groups doing the same thing, but with opposite pan. Lastly, move your shift all the way over to one side or the other.

Re: More possibilities in Generator
+1 for this.
Hopefully there has been some progress on this. Having the ability to group fixtures in the generator would be an excellent feature. I could see this being done in the fixture order screen. Having control over how many groups and to which group each fixture belongs would be ideal.

Re: More possibilities in Generator
still hoping to get the ability to group fixtures in Generator. (only for Shift)
For instance:
8 Movingheads:
1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 --> 5,6,7,8 Will be Pan reserve
Add a Shift of 25% and group 1-8, 2-7, 3-6, 4-5
You will get a Symmetricel circle qith a Mirror between Fixture 4&5

This would be very helpful for making multiple fixtures do that same thing.
