I believe you can. I played with that awhile back and was able to. I'd suggest to save the files you create as the same size and dpi as the ones provided in the software.

BTW - The phone app is really handy and I think you'll enjoy it's benefits

I found how to do this last night, before the post was submitted.

What I gathered was the hex color code used is not in the RGB format like you stated, I found it to be in the BGR format, so backwards from standard.

If you use an online color hex calculator and use the codes given in the colors.ini file, the colors do NOT match up. But if you change the order of the 2 character hex code for each R G B parameter into the order of BGR (backwards) it matches up.

Can you please confirm or deny this? And if so, it would be best to update that forum article to make sure it gets relayed correctly. Or, even better, fix the code to allow for proper RGB hex colors to be used in the colors.ini file :)

Yes, you are right ; we confirm.
The topic has been updated to match this.

We will see later if we can change this easily (without big issues) or not (added in TODO list).

Spent some time creating icons for the icon and 3d view for the half colors. It looks like the colors are ONLY hex colors and since you cannot split colors using hex, this won't be possible. I am not even able to make the icon appear in the editor of the color I have selected. I understand there is limitations on what we can see in 3D view, but at least show the icon of the color we created so we know what we are working with.

I added my icon files under icons>color>*files here*

thanks

Yes, it is also possible to add non pure colors as PNG files in folder "../YourSoftware/icons/color/"

Perfect. Now, just because I can ask... Can we add these colors to 3d view? If not I understand, just curious.

Thank you for your awesome support.

The channel "color" can show only pure color in 3DView.
An alternative is to use channel "gobo".

Okay, that's what I assumed. The only issue with that is then you'd have to create a separate channel for this to have a gobo a color and/or a solid color set. Not a big deal really, just would need to make sure when you programmed the actual scene, you use the correct DMX value as opposed to the "virtual" gobo/color channel you're using for the half colors.

Thanks for clarifying this.

On a side note:
I went ahead and finished off my configuration of the Technobeam-non-iris. This includes all of the colors, half colors, and stock gobos. I didn't worry about the litho effects as two of the four were already there.

Once I use this a little and confirm it's working, I can zip up and send. Let me know where I should send this to, or if i can attach a file here

Also, I'd be willing to help support you guys and help create new fixture profiles if you're interested. Feel free to message me off the boards if you're interested. Josh(at)crazybeatzdj.com

Thanks
