We just know they regularly publish upgrades. So we hope one upgrade will fix the problem.

In the meantime, there was a new release of usb generic system files. This new release is especially made for "high speed" usb3.0 devices. We do not use "high speed", but this might help anyway. We made (and signed) new drivers files, and we compiled a new dll file, with these latest system files. Everything is available here: http://download.thelightingcontroller.c ... ware/beta/.

You can try this new driver, and tell us the result with your non-working usb3.0 ports (we do not have non-working usb3.0 ports, so we can not check).

For this test, you must do two things:

1. change the existing driver by the attached one. You must see "xxx Interface 64bits (version 1.04_Allan1)" in the Device Manager
2. change the existing dll file in the software folder, by the attached one.

PS:
this test driver is exclusively for 64bits OS, and it is exclusively for interfaces D512, Remote and Rack.
this process needs to be done by people having some computer knowledge

I changed the driver and I also changed the dll file. When I try to install the driver using the device manager I got an error. If I unplug the 512 from the PC and then I replug it I got a successfully installed driver message with the Allan driver. When I connect the 512 to the pc I get another error. See the attached images. In the Device manager the 512 unit stays with a yellow symbol.

Thanks

This test driver is for people who have have only the "usb3.0" problem.

The "Code 10" problem is another problem reported by Windows.

We made several tests, and there is a chance that we found the problem of these usb3.0 ports.
We made a workaround, in our source code.

Please try this:
1. open your software folder (something like "../YourSoftware/")
2. rename the file "efk_usb.dll" by "efk_usb_original.dll"
3. copy this file http://download.thelightingcontroller.c ... fk_usb.dll , in the software folder.
In other words, we ask you to rename the existing DLL file, and to use a new one, which should fix the usb3.0 problem.

And please tell us if it works now.

I have a Dell Latitude E6530 and I was having the same error mentioned in this thread. My port replicator only has USB 2.0 ports but the laptop itself has only USB 3.0 ports. So I couldn't use the Express 512 unless the laptop was plugged into a port replicator. So I downloaded the dll, placed it in the root of the ShowXpress folder, and plugged my Xpress 512 back into my laptop. It now works. Thank you for the updated DLL!
