Digital input to trigger Live sequential list

I'm new to Sweetlight and am looking to be able to trigger a live sequential scene list with a digital input such as either a physical pushbutton or a break in a light beam somehow linked into the PC. This would be in a Windows 11 system. Any ideas as to how this might be achieved

You can control the commands with a midi device like the Akai APC Mini for instance.
