We think it will always be possible to blow a DMX interface.
We never tried but with 110/220 AC volts in the DMX line, we are not 100% sure it will resist a long time.
If your DMX line is really unsafe, you can insert a DMX isolator device between our DMX interface and the DMX line. Then a problem will first burn the external DMX isolator and this will protect our DMX interface.
Still don't understand how an Earthed Laptop connected to 2 Earthed LED Pars, powered with an Surge Protection power strip all PAT tested, still blow 2 of your your Interfaces with 2 different laptops?
Would the D1024 offer me better protection than the D512s?
It concerns me with having to shell out over £300 for the possibility it could blow again at anytime live on stage during a show? Granted it was with your earlier USB Cables I'm guessing that's why you have discontinued them hence why I'm purchasing a third device.
I'm struggling to find an external isolator, so must be a rare thing to happen, even though it's now happened to me twice within a year.
Are there hardwear issues we are not aware of?
I need to make a purchase ASAP to replace my dead interface.
Could you please tell me if I am better protected with the D1024 even though I certainly won't be using 1024 DMX channels
In the past, we saw some returned "Cable" because of electrical problem coming from the DMX line.
We got 0 return for electrical problem reason with the interfaces D512S, D1024 and Rack1024.
That is all we can say.
