Fade Mode buttons hard to see [done]

Post by djdad »

The small icon buttons showing the Fade status are really hard to see with the Default Theme (no other is available)
Can you help me with the names/values i can try to change in the default.ini file (their Background color or their "text" , in order to show them with a better contrast ?

Sorry but this part of the screen can unfortunately not be changed in the theme.
We note "improve difference between fade and snap icons" in the ToDo list.

As much as I like the program, this colour problem is serious in my use. I have changed as much as I can, but the real colours that I need to change cannot be done. I am still totally confused why the programmers, who I believe are pretty efficient, do not kinow how to get the original "grey" look back as an option.

I'm not a programmer but this is indeed hard to believe, and indeed a problem...

Honestly I really don't get why you guys don't like the new colour scheme.

Pretty much every major piece of software used in the creative arts these days has a dark colour scheme. The programmers have given the software a serious facelift to make the program look Far more modern. The old UI looks far too early-2000s

Personally I far prefer th darker UI. When working in dark theatres it's much easier on the eyes.

To give you an idea, here's some examples of other creative software which now has dark UI

GrandMa onPC
Hog PC
Chamsys MagicQ
Adobe Premier Pro
Avid Pro Tools
Apple Logic Pro
Elation Onyx
Adobe Photoshop
Apple Final Cut Pro
FL Studio
Virtual DJ

Etc etc etc

Making the "snap" and "fade" icons in steps a little more obvious I agree with, because they are quite small and hard to see. Taking the software back to a light UI (and effectively making it look "outdated") I personally disagree with.

Simple answer.
Each person has their own preference.
I am sure that if we selected 100 random people, we would see at least 20 different style colours on their computers or cell phones

Sorry posted to early.
It is not about going back by changing the colour.
Most gui software gives the option of allowing you to change all colours

I think we are not against a dark UI, it's just about contrast for a specific item. But for my ageing eyes, even in a dark theatre, a little less dark UI woudn't hurt either... I really don't care about a "fashionable" look, as long as it is easy to work with. In fact, when I'm working with Reaper for instance (yeah, I'm a sound guy in fact !), I always use a very "old looking" theme but with a lot of contrast.

Thank you fro adding better Fade icons in your to-Do list.

I like the current default theme, it looks and works well in dark environments for most cases. But i think an additional theme with more contrast would be welcomed from most.
