Catalina - audio files on timeline [fixed]

Postby sdgdance » 14 December 2019, 15:24

I am using a Mac computer running the latest OS Catalina 10.15.1. I have been through several versions of MacOS that breaks this software, but this seems to be the worst. I can no longer add audio files to the timeline. I get the error message 'Unable to open media file (missing codec)'. I get that for ever single type of audio file I try...mp3, wav etc. These are all files that I previously was able to use. I use this software extensively for the purpose of automating ballroom dance shows. It was the only one left on the market of reasonable price that would do exactly what I needed and not it's broken again. My only recourse at this stage is to find an older computer with an older MacOS and older version of ShowXpress. This is however a temporary and annoying recourse. There must be a fix. Anyone have any ideas???
