Can we run 3DView on seperate computer ? [fixed]

Post by vwguy »

I use a laptop to run sweetlight. When programing a show I usually connect an external monitor to run the 3D View on. This leads to a lag between running audio and light show in Timeline mode. Is there a way of running the 3D View software on a seperate computer connected to my laptop through a network cable to eliminate this lag?

Many Thanks,
Will.

It is best to use uncompressed audio formats. For some complicated reason that I can't quite remember. Try using a WAV file.

Mp3 all use codecs, the resolution with codecs causes the lag, use WAVS and you will be laughing man,

You can run 3DView on a separate computer (in fact ControlBoard and ScreenControl software are network servers). For that, you have to
- Install the software on both computers
- Install the LightShow on both computers
- Correctly setup the IP addresses in the ControlBoard of the computer who is not connected to the interface
- Correctly configure the firewall(s) if needed
