Just finished patching my Akai APC40. All the clip launch buttons are static movements. Clip stop buttons are looped movements. Top right clump of knobs are beams. Bottom clump of knobs, all nine of them, (each track selection button changes them into a whole new bunch of patchable knobs.) are my color scenes. Faders control dimming of fixture groups. other cool touches. Definitely need a UPC battery or power conditioner. Switching wall wart doesn't cut it.

Pretty common and readily available board. Offers nice feel as well.

Only works on one MIDI channel. That's kind of a bummer since we have midi send. That's good for other stuff like triggering video software or lasers. Gonna play with some motorized faders on a Midas M32 console next. I'll let ya know what I come up with.
