Firmware Upgrade

Postby vipola » 05 December 2012, 04:20

Hi All,

I am using the Chauvet Xpress-512-Plus, and ShowXpress v6.31 running in Windows XP

I Have an issue with cheap chinese moving wash (Focus9 LEDFX-20), they strobe like crazy when color should be solid, they work great with my Hardware dmx controler..

I saw a few place (and in a few tread on this forum) that firmware 106 was fixing the dmx bug with chinese fixtures..
I think I have the 105 firmware so probably upgrading to the 106 would fix my issue..

When I go to the main splash screen, Right click, Upload Scenes into the interface, Click on Universe 1, On the Title of the Upload Screen I see "Universe 1 - Remote (v105)" so I guess it mean I have the firmware 105..

How do I upgrade it to 106?..
I Guess you need to upload a special fixture to the unit, but I can't find any instruction or file to download anywhere..

PS: Upgrading Firmware should be in the FAQ somewhere.. :P

Thanks
vipola

Please PM us the interface serial number (white sticker with number similar to "43xxxxxxxxxxxx").
We will check that.

Please confirm the firmware version.
It is written in the title bar of the "Stand-alone" window (where you can see the picture of your interface).
(only the our software for Windows® shows this info)

Hi, Thanks for your fast reply, I got absolutely no clue where is the 'stand alone' windows.. I'm new to this interface..

As described in my original post, This is what I did in ShowXpress v6.31 running in Windows XP:

When I go to the main splash screen, Right click, Upload Scenes into the interface, Click on Universe 1, On the Title of the Upload Screen I see "Universe 1 - Remote (v105)" so I guess it mean I have the firmware 105..

isn't that what you call the Stand-Alone windows???..

I'm wondering if a firmware upgrade will be the solution i need for the xpress 512 not working with a 30 channel decoder. https://www.aliexpress.com/item/3238797 ... 4c4dlHdwbn
The decoder does not see the DMX signal. Thanks
