How to destinguish between 2 D1024s in the DMX tab

I have 2 1024s and if I look in the DMX tab for available devices to assign to a universe I will see both D1024s in the drop down menu. I will also see a numeric value beside each of them but that numeric value has been alternating every-time I boot up the MacBook Pro and open ShowXpress. As a result I often open the Lighting controller and have scrambled, reassigned universes. On top of the rotating number assignment for each of the 1024s it also makes no distinction between which of the 2 available universes on each 1024 you are assigning. I originally thought that probably the 1st assigned in the DMX tab would correlate to the 1st dmx output (xlr outlet) on the 1024 box but that has proven to be inconsistent. It would be nice to not have to guess, or go through multiple trial and errors assignments every-time I boot up the light show. What is the solution?

Here is an example with one interface D1024

And here is an example with two interfaces D1024

"1 (D1024)" means the first interface
The first line from the top is always the first DMX output of the interface.
The second line from the top is always the second DMX output of the interface.
"2 (D1024)" means the second interface

That said, please note that using the option "Change defaut DMX universes mapping" is not mandatory. You can leave it unchecked, let the computer decide the interfaces order and plug your DMX lines according to the default DMX lines setup.
