Artnet capabilities with 1024 vs 512

Hi there! Longtime forum lurker and enthusiastic user, first time poster. :) This might be a silly question, but with the Xpress1024 can I still use the DMX-AN as my main two universes with the 1024 acting as a dongle only?

I had a client offer to order me a brand-new 1024 tonight if I left my aging 512 with them for them to keep using. Some good luck for a change, eh? :D

I got a little confused when I came here and read a few of the topics about universes though, and it seems like it would be fine or they wouldn't be selling the AN2. Just figured I'd clarify before the new 1024 gets here and I get my grubby hands on it.

Thanks to anyone who can clarify, and double-thanks to support if you see this for making such great software for us all this time <3

Hello,
Here is the answer:

D512 - 512 channels dmx or Artnet
D1024 - 1024 channels dmx or Artnet + 512 channels Artnet

Fantastic, thank you! I figured it was a silly question but actually with this further clarification I realize what an upgrade I'll have now :D

Many thanks again for all your hard work over the years. Apologies for veering off topic, but I struggle with depression and things have been really rough lately, but sometimes I look back on videos of lighting I've done with your software and it gives me a needed reminder that I am a good and creative person, capable of bringing joy to other people's lives. Your software has literally saved my life in that sense, so I just wanted to take this opportunity to thank you sincerely.
