movement stutter

Postby calin » 08 August 2013, 12:13

Hello,

I am using SweetLight software with a SSA interface and some COEMAR iSpot 150 moving heads.
The single problem that I have is that I can't generate a smooth movement with the equipment I have.
The problem is most obvious when trying to make a slow sweep.
The moving heads stutter like they receive the command in small steps and execute them one at a time.
I am thinking that the "resolution" or the rate with which the software sends the command is not high enough or something similar.

I've tested the moving heads with other DMX controllers and they are working fine.

If you can think of something please let me know!

This fixture has a "pan/tilt speed" channel.
If it is set to "max speed", the result gives "steps" for slow movement.
We suggest you to adjust this channel to "lower speed".

Hello,

I am familiar with the function of that channel.
I already tried adjusting to various values and the result is not satisfactory.
On the other hand I have the iSpot 575, also from Coemar, the old model, that does NOT have the pan/tilt speed channel. Works beautiful.
I will try adjusting the pan/tilt speed channel some more and if I'm not successful I'll post a video with the behaviour maybe you can spot the mistake I am making.

Thanks!
