midi help please [fixed]

im a newbie, but have been playing in the software and love it. doing things that took 5 times as long as before...

now i just need to be able to use a midi controller to make my life and the shows better.

i have a mac and the newest showexpress, non beta, 6.32 i believe.

i have activated my midi port inside my mac and i can see it in showxpress... in the midi patch i select it, push the button for learn and leave the output blank.

i must be doing something wrong as when i try to use a trigger setting in LIVE it will not react to my midi controller button when pushed....

please help make my life better:)
