Behringer USB/Midi BCR & BCF 2000 controllers

Hello,

I was wondering if anyone has used / tried one of the Behringer BCR 2000 or BCF 2000 desktop USB/Midi Controllers with ShowExpress.

I was looking for a friendlier way of controlling the ShowExpress at moments notice during live performances. From what I have read and seen on YouTube these was made to control recording software, but I have seen it used with other lighting software as well. This looks like the ticket to me for hands on control with assignable functions to any knob, button or slider. Both of these units can be connected by Midi to run seamless together with software.

My goal would be to control the dimmer of any par can at a moments notice or to manually take control of a moving head/mirror's pan and tilt, as well as flash any light singly if I so choose.
What I have seen is you can assign any function to any control on these units.
It this diagram it even looks like they have a sketch of it. ;-D

I see that ther are now commands on this topic. But i have the same question! I'm a dj that looks for a extra dimension in my shows. I can't find a topic or manual where all the possibilities of midi controller are. Is there not a manual or better a video where this all bin explain?
- Can you use the midi controller in builder to make your scenes easyer?
- Can you make in live a few buttons of you midi controller flash buttons?
- Can you make in live a black out button and when you press again all your shows will contineu?
- Can you make in live a master dimmer and can you control the speed of for instance my strobes?

We use the midi device exclusively for live control. From the midi device, we can: direct control dmx outputs and control buttons/faders of program Live.

Buttons can be in "flash" mode (right click on button and select "flash button").

Depending of your fixtures, make a scene with: channels "dimmer" at 0%, channels "shutter" at level "closed", ... And do not active the other channels. This will be your "blackout" scene.

Make a 2 steps scene: step#1 with speed strobe at 0% and step#2 with speed strobe at 100%. And do not active the other channels. Right click on button and select "fader button". This will be your "strobe speed control" fader.

From the above message i get the following ingormation.

I can only use the midi controller in the live menu. In the live menu i can create buttons similar to those on my midi controller so i can activate buttons (flas buttons or normal buttons). Also i can match the masterfaders on the right with a fader on my controller. And i can match the faders above the buttons (fader button and preset button) to a fader on my midi controller.

Is this all correct?
Because if it is so than i can get my shows to a hole new level!!!

Yes Sir, this is correct.

Moreover, it is also possible to patch midi faders, straight to dmx outputs.

Hello everybody !
I tried several configurations to control my shows in midi, here is a picture of my current setup.
I use the 12" touch screen in editor to build the scenes, And in second screen with the mac during the show.
2 BCF2000 in chain for more knobs ( I would like to add a mini keyboard in USB, but it's not possible yet, i know)
IPad with mobile live mainly for flash button, Strob , special effect.....
So I'm waiting for the app design for iPad with the specifications who many user want in the forum,
And with a Blackout button (like control+shift+Z) near master faders ^_^ ??
