Using a DMX-AN with live mobile

Postby David LX1 » 26 November 2018, 11:31

I'm running Xpress 512 plus and a DMX-AN for 3 universes in ShowXpress (current version as of Oct 2018 which ever that is and Windows 10.). It runs really well.
I have a dedicated WiFi modem to run Live Mobile.
The problem I have is I am unable connect to Ethernet and my WiFi modem at the same time to run Live Mobile.
With just the 512 Plus, Live Mobile runs fine.
Artnet is on a 2.0.0.X network and my modem is on a 192.168.0.X.
Should I run it all on the 192.168.0.X IP addressing? Or the 2.0.0.X?
Does any one have ideas I could try?

An ethernet line should be dedicated to the Artnet network.
Why not using the internal wifi to connect to the router ? (or a 10$ USB wifi key)

That is what I am trying to do.
I am trying to connect artnet to ethernet and wifi to the router.
So my laptop is not liking being connected to both wifi and ethernet at the same time.

Looks like a subnet mask is not correct

I tried on a different modem that is set to 10.0.0.138 by default. So the wifi will connect and be given a 10.0.0.* address.
Set the ethernet connection and the DMX-AN to the 10.0.0.* network and set all subnets to 255.255.255.0 n.n.n.h. The wifi is still DHCP so as long as I check the wifi IP each time I connect Live Mobile should be good.

So all wifi and ethernet should be on the same network.
Works really well now.

Caveat here. If DHCP issues an address used for artnet or ethernet I'll be in trouble.
I'll adjust the auto addressing to start higher IPs than my ethernet adresses.
