Issues with SLR Lighting Moving Heads (Chinese made)

Postby Ifflaproductions » 08 June 2011, 21:01

I have a pair of SLR Lighting Moving Heads (Chinese made) When using Show xpress 512, the Pan does not respond accordingly, when the Pan Values are set to "0" the unit operates normally, (tilt, gobo wheel, color wheel, prism, prism rotate, focus, all that is great!) When the Pan value is between 2-255 the moving head does not respond like it needs to, when i set the Pan value back down to "0" The pan is very Smooth, it works great, its hard to explain in Typing

my youtube page shows exactly what i mean

search for DJTexnikal, go to my channel
its labeled as SLR PINPOINT 250 PLUS MOVING HEAD ISSUES
the video is a recent video as well...
please comment on the page, reply back to me here or email, please help out

<b>Just to inform you, Freestyler is another software i have, i use a Velleman VM116 controller it works PERFECTLY fine, all 14 channels, including pan, however i dont want to use that unless its my 100% last resort, i would hate to think Show xpress isnt compatable with this unit...isnt all DMX...DMX?! lol im also using same set up, cables, dmx address between the 2 different softwares...

Thanks for your help!
Michael

Please check that the interface firmware version is 106.
ControlBoard > StandAlone > Universe1 > the version number is written in the title of the window (under Windows OS only).

With version 105, there was some flickering problems because some recent Chinese are not 100% dmx compliant (they do not accept fast dmx signal).
Version 106 fixed that problem, and since that version (February 2011), we did not hear any problem with Chinese lights.

We can not see youtube for now, because we are in a tradeshow in China, and youtube is forbidden in China.
We will watch it when back in office (next week), hoping it will bring us more infos to help to understand this problem.

Please check with another computer:
- install a new fresh software
- do not make any lightshow
- just go in Editor, switch on the dmx, and move the faders

If the problem still happen, then we will be sure it does not come from the computer.
