Midi fader control and LED off with button off [fixed]

Postby thorehl » 02 April 2015, 10:24

Hi, need some help. Is i possible to control master fader and/or button faders using midi?
I have an Akai APC mini (picture) to midi-control light scenes. But it would be great to be able to control the faders as well.

Got it working. Thanks!

But now, new questions arises. Button color on the controller.
In the manual, all I could find is this:

LED colors represent the following:
• Off: Clip is empty (nothing loaded).
• Amber: Clip is loaded but not playing.
• Green: Clip is loaded and playing.
• Red: Clip present and recording.

I've messed around with the midi out settings, and got the buttons to light green when pressed for the first time, but not able to turn them off when scene button is turned off.
Got any pointers/tips?

When it comes to the BPM trigger button, i would have expected the button to blink like on an sound-effect tap-button, button no light at all on this button.

After reading other threads, I've found my apc needs this to be sent on data2 output:
When mapped: 5 (yellow/amber)
When pressed: 3 (red)
After released: 1 in a loop until pressed again (green)
. . . .
Pressed again: 5 (returning to yellow/amber for idle button)

And that this isn't coming until V8 or so.

here's what I've found so far....
0=off,
1=green,
2=green blink,
3=red,
4=red blink,
5=yellow,
6=yellow blink,
7-127=green

Hang in there!
My post originally derived from the APC-40 which also relies on velocity info to change the color on the buttons...
Currently a drawback when using Akai products aside from uneditable mapping...
Akai has been strick about releasing any info about the mini and APC40 Mk2...
You may also note that most of the Akai's buttons will only transmit/recieve note on but not note off messages ...
Use of a virtual midi router can ease some of the frustrations by transfiguring some of the MIDI messages to what ya need...
SX has came a long way in a short time to get things rolling with MIDI and they are almost there!

We are working on the ability to choose Midi-Out Data2/Velocity value when button is released ...

I was about to mention that. That I think Niffo & co. is on top of things.
I have no problem waiting for v8. Launching works, and DJs have no problem understanding the setup I've made.
All though, a blinking BPM button is a must have.

In version 7.1.54, you can adjust "Data2Off" to zero ; this will switch off the LED of the midi button, when you switch off the button in Live.
V7.1.54 is available here: http://download.thelightingcontroller.c ... roller.zip
