Using A Launchpad With Light Up Buttons

Postby CHR1155 » 18 February 2015, 23:28

Hey guys!

Recently bought a Launchpad to use as a controller alongside Sweetlight, i have everything programmed in and running fine but I ran into an issue on the first gig. I have the "page" arranged on the screen infront of me in the same layout as on the pad, but the issue comes when I want to say turn off a button. I have no visual reference on the pad and have to count up and across the rows to find the button to switch it off and when I need to hit cues, this becomes a problem!

Is there a way of doing this? I have read about automap and also seen the other thread about using a launchpad on this forum, but I got rather confused! Is there anyone that can explain it simply? Pictures and or video would be awesome! (I am a complete MIDI newbie!)

I can add screenshots etc if need be!

Cheers,
Chris

P.S - Really pushing the boat out here, but is it possible to colour mix with the LED's inside the pad? So I could have a button light up "blue" for a blue scene etc?

You can use the "midi out" function to drive the color of the midi button.

on main window...Under File /Preferences, Check MIDI In enable and MIDI Out enable boxes and select Launchpad from drop down...
make sure launchpad is connected before launching ShowXpress...
you'll have to relaunch ShowXpress after making changes

I have finally got it to work, is there a way to change the colour of the button, and if so how?

Cheers,
Chris

Found the fix that was released and this solved the problem.
