Feature Request - Editing numeric and name values

Would you please consider changing the popup box behavior to block/highlight the existing value, numeric or words, so that i can just type in a new value vs having to delete it manually first (in all tabs and contexts)? When editing quickly this eats a lot of time. If i wanted to edit the current value i would have to use the arrow keys to position my cursor, this would immediately kill the default block selection i'm suggesting and would basically be the same as it is today.
