Selecting multiple Groups

Postby djdad » 17 February 2020, 16:20

Possible bug :
In order to select multiple Groups (using CTRL+ Group)..
- Click on a Group to select it.
- Hold down CTRL on keyboard and then click on another Group.
Expected behavior : Both Groups to be selected.

It appears that it requires 2 clicks to add a Group to the current selection. So in order the above to work you need to..
- Click on a Group to select it.
- Hold down CTRL on keyboard and then click on another Group.
- Repeat previous step

Can this be fixed ? Or is there a good reason working like this ?

Also, since you have assigned keyboard keys to select Groups, wouldn't be reasonable the following to work ?
- Group 1 : keyboard shortcut a
- Group 2 : keyboard shortcut b
- From keyboard, press a to select Group 1.
- From keyboard CTRL+b to add Group 2 to the selection.

Hmm, OK, then i was mistaken thinking it worked for me like above.

Would be great if you could add this feature in a future update.

Here is a good reason (at least for me)...
I had created a 6x6 matrix "dance floor" and created groups like Column 1 to Column 6, Row 1 to Row 6 etc..
When i program a scene, i want to be able to select more than 1 Row or more than 1 Column and quickly provide their colors. E.g. i want Column 2,3,4,5 to have blue and Columns 1 and 6 to have red. It could be much less steps for me if i could select multiple groups.
Hope it makes sense.
