Software not playing nice with Qustodio

I have an issue using the software on my macbook pro running Qustodio, a computer protection service. When I open The Lighting Controller, it (TLC) will switch to the background, I have to click inside the window to make it run on my foreground. It will toggle back and forth a few times, then stay on the foreground. This issue only comes up with The Lighting Controller, and no other app. If I switch to another app, say, Chrome, and back, I have to go through the same process again.
