Hope you're paying attention to the new features in MyDMX

Most people would agree that MyDMX is far inferior to SX, but they just released a new version which easily handles adding multi-beam and also multi XY (for fixtures like the CHAUVET INTIMSPOTDUO). We are seeing many more multi head devices entering the market. I hope you stay ahead of this.

Here's their link:

It will be truly sad if they get to fixture and show patching before SX.

We already asked to the manufacturers to make a "smart" channels mode.
Instead of making: pan1, tilt1, color1, gobo1, pan2, tilt2, color2, gobo2, dimmer (for all).
Please make: pan1, tilt1, color1, gobo1, dimmer1, pan2, tilt2, color2, gobo2, dimmer2.

Then no more problems ; the product becomes two real fixtures, straight compatible with all existing lighting software.
And it is so easy for the manufacturer to split the "master" dimmer into dimmer1 + dimmer2.

Again, manufacturers, please make a "smart" channels mode, and you will sell more quantities.

In our side, that would be so more nice if we could use our coding time for more interesting new features.

Presently the channels of IntimidatorSoptDuo are (in the best mode for us):
pan1, upan1, tilt1, utilt1, pan2, upan2, tilt2, utilt2, speed1&2, color1, color2, gobo1, gobo2, dimmer1, dimmer2, shutter1, shutter2, control1&2, macros1&2, macro speed1&2

Several existing software are not able to drive efficiently the IntimidatorSpotDuo (our software and some competitors software), due to the channels for head1 and head2 are mixed.

If you dissociate the channels from head1 to head2 like this:
pan1, upan1, tilt1, utilt, color1, gobo1, dimmer1, shutter1, pan2, upan2, tilt2, utilt2, color2, gobo2, dimmer2, shutter2, speed1&2, control1&2, macros1&2, macro speed1&2
This fixture becomes suitable for all existing software. You have to declare 2 different profiles: IntimidatorSpotDuo_part1 (8 channels) and IntimidatorSpotDuo_part2 (12 channels)

The best is dissociate all channels from head1 to head2 like this:
pan1, upan1, tilt1, utilt, color1, gobo1, dimmer1, shutter1, speed1, control1, macros1, macro speed1, pan2, upan2, tilt2, utilt2, color2, gobo2, dimmer2, shutter2, speed2, control2, macros2, macro speed2
This is, in our opinion, the best possible fixture:
- it is suitable for all existing software
- and it needs only one profile: IntimidatorSpotDuo_half_part (12 channels)

So far, the dmx channels order should not really affect the cost (?)

For next multi-heads fixtures, please consider this "smart" dmx channels mode.
