Playing music simultaneously

only for things which concern both Buttons and Timeline

Playing music simultaneously

Postby dustinwarrenanderson » 27 December 2013, 20:08

I have programmed my entire theatre show and would like to take out the guessing game of starting Itunes and LIVE at the same time.

Is there some way to push one button to do this?

I have given up on using timeline. I can't figure out how to use that part of the program.

Just for the right understanding:
You installed the Software. You don´t understand how to use the Timeline (or Live in general). You found this forum. Now you ask, how to start a completely different application, althoug there are hundreds of posts in this forum? :|
Ýou should definitly think about this idea again but back to your question:
You CAN make a little program like this and save it as a START.bat application:
start "d:/SweetLight/Live/live.exe"
start "c:/programs/apple/itunes.exe"
exit

to start the programs but i think there´s no way to start a song in iTunes AND play a lightshow in live.
- So...play a bit more with the timeline, look up in this forum and you can try the demo-show profile in settings!

Have fun with this program!

It is not possible to run iTunes from our software.

The two ways to run a music with our software are:
1. with a "media" button in Live (afterwards, you can make a "Macro" button to trigger the media button and the scenes buttons together)
2. with a Timeline

If you are wanting to run two music together at the same time, I found out that you can make a Black music video and if you play the video and the media they will both play music at the same time.
You can't play to medias on show express but you can play a media and a video at the same time.

its better to use a timeline... or a DAW software (Ableton, FL, etc)
for many tracks i use ableton clips, works very well

Thanks for the responses...I have meant to update this a few weeks ago.

I figured out Timeline and it is a revelation.

Thanks for all the input. I really appreciate it.

If you work with many tracks, i recomend to use a external DAW (FL Studio, Ableton) ;)
