The Lighting Controller

Hi,

I'm new with DMX controllers and i'm planning to buy the D512 with Sweetlight.
I have a question regarding cable management of my fixtures.

DO i need to respect the order of the dmx adressing when connecting all my fixtures -> For exemple DMX Controller ----->Fixture 1 (1-7)------->Fixture 2(8-15)---->Fixture 3(16-23)--->etc...

Or can i connect them randomly as long as each fixture has its correct dmx adress -> For exemple DMX Controller----->Fixture2(8-15)----->Fixture 1(1-7)----->Fixture3(16-23)---->
