Problem with V8 [fixed]

Postby tbone » 05 April 2016, 01:00

I'm running Windows 10 with the Box and the latest beta Version 8. It seems the Box isn't outputting DMX to the fixtures as it does in Version 7. There's activity in the DMX bargraph but no response from the lights. When I switch back to Version 7, everything works. Version 8 has so many great new features I was hoping it would work with the Box, as you stated. Perhaps I'm overlooking something. Thanks!

It is more and more sensible with this interface, which becomes a bit old in front of the current computer technology.
However, we keep trying to make it work.
Please try with the DLL file from the file "fix.zip" (uploaded today).

The new .dll fix works -- to an extent. The Box is now outputting DMX and the lights are responding. Every 20 seconds or so, however, all the lights go out briefly. It's not a power issue as they're on separate circuits. It's as if they're either losing a signal or being dimmed by the controller. The controller shows no obvious fader movements when everything drops out and returns. V8 with my Box setup is also picky about when it switches into DMX mode. Sometimes the DMX switch is unselectable. I appreciate your efforts on this and am not complaining, I just wanted you to have feedback since you went to the trouble of updating the .dll for me.

Progress. The DMX button is now available all the time. The lights are still dropping out about every 20-30 seconds. This behavior can be duplicated by pressing the DMX switch off and on quickly. During the brief dropouts there is no movement in either channel faders or the DMX Bargraph. Thanks for trying to make this work.

Success! I ran a dozen or so fixtures with the Box and Sweetlight V8.0.74 with the .dll fix2. No dropouts in 10 minutes of operating a test scene with three steps. I haven't delved deeply into this yet -- and I'll report any issues that arise -- but the Box seems to be working as seamlessly as it did with Version 7. You said you'd try to help -- and you did. That's a rarity these days and tells me I made a great choice going with Sweetlight. Can''t wait to try out all the new features. Congrats and thanks!

Nice to see you could still profit of our latest software version with your interface !
The next complete V8 software setup will include this new dll file.
BTW, viewtopic.php?f=2&t=1268 :)
