How much longer do you project supporting this interface? Though I rarely use a wing console much anymore, having an DMX Input function is nice a few circumstances still.

V8 is supposed to manage this interface.
Until now, we try to keep the interfaces compatible as long as the computer technology allow us to do it.
But it is not easy with interface Box, because its processor is becoming a bit weak nowadays.

FYI, this recent interface has a dmx input: viewtopic.php?f=57&t=4174

Support,
I have only 1 X Factor left in my inventory and purely as a backup, but will V9 support it? Or will it be time to upgrade for a new back up box?

V9 will support it, BUT the problem is the computer and the recent motherboards usb chips.
Althought motherboards manufacturers say "no problem with backward compatibility", there is sometimes problems with this interface and the recent motherboards.

So our answer is: as long as you keep the same computer, there should be no problem. When you will change computer, this will be like lottery (for all software versions).

PS: nice to see this interface (discontinued in year 2010) is still alive 8 years later.

Thanks for your reply. I actually have 2 X Factors, and one just needed its first and only repair, I had to replace the USB B port.
That is it. I have had them for 12 years and they get about 5-600 hours a service a year.
Quality product, damn near bulletproof.

Well I tried out the X-Factor boxes with V9 yesterday and they did not work with the 2018 drivers. However my Xpress512 and DMX-AN worked just fine. So I guess it is time to finally retire the X-Factors.

The V9 driver files (INF) and the V9 librairie files (DLL) have the code to support this interface.
But the V9 usb librairies may not be able to manage this interface with some recent computers.

Sorry for that.
