New D512 refuses to connect

Postby radiodrome » 31 July 2014, 08:33

Hello,

I recieved a new D512. It makes no connection with the software. I tried the software in the FAQ section of this board (starts with sweetlight), aswell as the software of the site (starts with controlboard). I get different errors, but the D512 refuses to connect. Green light on the device (pc link) is off in both cases. Driver install is succesfull (1.04)
I put some screenshots in the attachment.

What is wrong?

We see two possibilities:

1. you are using an usb3.0 port, with an old mother board usb driver
In that case, please read this: viewtopic.php?f=15&t=2884

2. the name of your interface is not the same name than your software
In that case, please read this: viewtopic.php?f=15&t=691

Ok, thanks. I realise now that i need the QuickDMX software, and not the Sweetlight.
I can now send out DMX through the D512, but now I have a new problem.
When i make an scene, i can save it and put it in the the timeline in the stand alone tab. I guess I have to click on the "Btn_SA_UploadData"-button to upload the scene to use it standalone?
When I do this, the software crashes.... Also the green LED "pc link" is not on.

In the manual I found somewhere on the internet it says I have to make some stand alone-setting with a button on the controlbox screen, but I don't have that screen anymore now that I use the QuickDMX software...

Yes, but please set the software language to "English", which is the only available language for now.
Also the green LED "pc link" is not on

This is normal during upload process.
When I do this, the software crashes

Please make a ZIP of your lightshow and post it (or email it viewtopic.php?f=3&t=19). We will check that.
In the manual I found somewhere

This manual is for the previous software version. It is now obsolete. Please do not use it. Here are fresh tutorials: viewtopic.php?f=75&t=3077

In the attachment you'll find the lightshow.
What i want to do (for now) is straightforward. 4 DMX channels fading in and out over a period 20 sec. I made 4 steps that I want to loop forever.

I made a scene of it, saved it and recalled it in the timeline. When i hit upload, the uploadbar goed to approx. 80%, then the software crashes.

Thanks for your help.

For an unknown reason, we found a line about a second universe, in the standalone data !

Please delete the file "StandAlone/standalone.ini" in your lightshow (the lightscene will not be lost), and redo the standalone process.

Good day,
My box was working fine at a show and suddenly sorted out on a show right after. We have been using this box for over 1 year now and never got any problems. We getting that usb not being recognised when we connect it to the PC. Is this a software problem or hardware problem.

Looks like a hardware problem.
Either the pcb has a manufacturer problem (bad contact ; pcb is still clean).
Or something bad happen in the dmx line (ground loop ; pcb is burned).

In any case, you have to return the interface to your retailer for maintenance service.
