D512 No PC Link

Postby gilbeada » 26 February 2014, 11:30

Hi,
I have a D512 unit.
The PC Link light has stopped coming on.
I've tried this on several different computers and consistently get an error that it is an unknown device.
I've tried pre-installing the driver, and on a computer I know an identical unit works on.
Unfortunately the unit appears to be at fault.
I bought the unit from a company in Germany (I am in the UK). I've tried contact them for support, but it has become clear that they are not going to help.
Is there anything else I can do to get this fixed?

Thanks
Adam

Hello,
I purchased it from Simplysound on ebay - this was in turn fulfilled by another company in Germany (I think).
I had to raise a case with paypal to get the item shipped out to me in the first place.
It worked for less than a year and has no visible signs of damage internally.
Is there anywhere I can send it to get it repaired? (ideally back to yourselves). I've got a show coming up that I would like to use it for - I don't really want to change to another manufacturer as I'm used to your software.

Thanks
Adam

We do not have any maintenance equipment, or stock of products (we are support only).

We think we found the supplier.
Please send by PM the interface serial number in order for us to double check.

Hello,
I'm having these problems:
- no pc link (front led light is off)
- no universe found (when open controlboard)

(I tried on a WIN and a MAC computer... but same problem).

I have here the same problem on my pc. No PC Link comming up, but I installed it on an other computer and it works fine so the D512 is working well.
I have tried to uninstall and re install the quickDMX software but that did not help.
Any suggesstions ?

being playing around with software a bit more today ,I've also hooked the 512 dmx USB controller up. The blue light on the unit is on and I believe the fixtures are getting dmx signal because when I pull the dmx cable out from the dmx unit the fixtures stop blinking which I believe there is no DMX signal getting through, plug it back and they start flashing again , but the pc link green light isn’t showing up on the unit ? Should it be on? I'm running windows 8 on my laptop and updated the driver to correct one as there is no yellow hazard over in the device manger tab as there was before hand.
