The Lighting Controller

So I ordered a cable the other day not realizing it was not mac compatible. I run parallels on my laptop with win8 and was wondering if it will work with a windows side install of showexpress. Still a few days till the cable gets here but bumed about lack of mac support on it.
Is it a hardware or software issue?

Parallels is supposed to manage well usb devices, so the interface Cable should work under the Windows section.
