Multiple Universe Multiple Types of Boxes

Postby Pink LD » 10 March 2016, 21:41

If I am going to use 3 universes and I have 2 of the old boxes and one of the DMX 512 boxes and I want to use the DMX input feature I know that I have to use the highest universe for the input function. So do I setup the universes like this:
U1. Old Box
U2. DMX 512
U3. Old Box

Thanks.

The interfaces order in the software is given by the OS.
We suggest you to make some tests, until you find the best order for your needs.

But 2 different types of USB hubs are compatible for multi-universe use?

And what is the best approach to having the OS (Windows) recognise the boxes as I need?

Yes, for the 512 channels interfaces (not for the interface "Cable").

We can not asnwer, because it depends of your computer configuration.
We suggest you to try different orders of connections, and run the software to see the result. Then you keep the best for you.

Artnet would be your best bet. Right now 1 box unlocks 1 artnet universe. You can get a artnet node and run all of your dmx universe off that. I've been asking for key or dongle that unlocks all 6 universe and has dmx Input.
