Which midi controller do you use? And do faders work?

Postby TwoSound » 18 December 2012, 08:30

Hello all Sweetlight users,

I'm am looking for a midi controller for Sweetlight but don't know which one to buy. I hope to hear from some of you which ones you are using and if you like it or not?

Allso some questions for the supportdesk :)
- If I buy a midi controller with faders, can i assign a fader to a preset button in live? So I can make colour presets and select these with the fader?
- If i assign a button in Live as flash, wil the midi controller allso function as flash?

Thank you for your reply!

Kind regards,
René

Yes, midi faders can be assigned to "preset buttons" and even to new "fader buttons".
Yes flash buttons are working as "flash" with the midi controller.

Regards.

Hello Niffo, That's very good news! Thank you :) Now is the next question, how can I enable fader buttons, I am working on version 6.31, I think the fader buttons will be on a current beta version? Can you tell me where to download?

I'm thinking of buying the AKAI APC20 controller, do you think this is a good midi controller for Sweetlight?

Thank you again!

Kind regards, René

Midi faders management is available in version 6.31 (no need to use the beta version).

For midi settings, please read this: viewtopic.php?f=3&t=1499

Sorry we do not know the AKAI APC20 controller ; so we can not tell our mind on it.

Nice post! I will check out and try if I can get it working :) Last minute I changed my mind on the controller and now bought the Elation Midicon. Do you know this type?

Sorry we do not know it too (we use exclusively virtual midi devices during software development).

Hi! Did you ever get the Midicon to work? That sounds like exactly what I need- an intensity fader and flash button for scenes in Live.
