Editor Crashes when resizing [fixed]

Postby Pink LD » 07 September 2013, 21:27

In my master Project Pink show, and only my master show, Editor opens aand is functional until I try to resize it. Then it crashes and I can't restart Editor unless I close Control Board and restart. Any ideas?

Please post your master show (or email it if confidential), and tell us what scene to load in Editor.
We will check that.

All the features of Editor work, all scenes do as well. But once I resize the window of Editor, I.e. grab a window border of the Editor pane, it crashes. As soon as I get home I'll email it to you.

Here is what I know:
All my shows work on my master computer. When I export my shows and import them to my backup laptop all my shows work but THE master show. If Editor opens, it will work as long as I don't try to resize the window. If I do try to resize it Editor crashes and will not restart no matter what show I load. I have to close Control Board and restart just to get Editor to start again for it to work with my other shows or the Master show again. However once I try to resize the Editor window on Master show, Editor crashes again.
Everything works fine on the master PC: ZX4250, Win 7 64bit, 4 gig memory, AMD-300 APU with Radeon HD Graphics, 1.3 Ghz
But the editor crashes on the Laptop: Gateway NV57H, Win 7 64 bit, 2 gig mem, Intel Celeron CPU B800 @ 1.5 GHz, 1500 MHz, dual core processors

So I don't know what my problem is, but I don't think it is the software. Seems to be something quirky with my laptop. What do you think?

Please try to delete the file "<master show>/Editor/editor.ini", and check Editor again.

By the way, do you have to load a specific scene in Editor, or does it crash without any loaded scene ?

Editor works whatever I do with it. Until I try to resize the window and it crashes every time. I will try your suggestion in a few hours and get back to you.

After deleting the master show's editor/editor.ini file it still crashes. I don't know why this laptop PC hates the Editor of that lighting programme.

If Editor crashes only with your master show, and not with the other shows, the problem comes from the master show.

True. And it crashes only on one machine. Sadly it's my backup machine. So it seems I will have to replace this lap top with another because Editor in one show, just one of my four shows, does not like this computer. Or rather this computer doesn't like Editor of my master show.
Thanks for your help and ideas. If I ever figure it out I'll let you know.
