Accidental Blackouts

Postby alextoft » 24 December 2012, 11:07

Howdy Folks,

Currently I am designing my scenes in the editor, then uploading them to my Xpress Plus from where they are controlled by our sound engineer using the IR remote control (no laptop present during live shows). Whilst the programming is somewhat intricate, the operation at gigs has to be ultra simple as lighting isn't the engineer's first priority. We have scenes for slow songs, scenes for fast songs, generally nuts scenes... plus a blackout scene, static ambient scene etc.

So here's my problem... During the show if the engineer presses a scene button twice accidentally, the whole stage goes black. We don't want this; in fact we want the only way in which you can kill a scene to be by selecting a different scene (including blackout, if required). We don't do layering at present (although we might in the future, just so we can control the hazer better).

Is there any way I can build this into my scene development, or is this a constraint (in my circumstances) of the XPress Plus?

Thanks, and Merry Christmas.
