Editor does not remember the correct group name [fixed]

Postby rbekel » 19 February 2012, 03:48

When i add a group name in editor the name does not always stay as typed. If I exit the program and go back into editor, the Group name may change to "Group (plus the key equivalent" like "Group A" or "Group M". It usually happens to 4 or 5 of the groups when I exit and re-enter the program then I change them again but they do not stay. Help!!!

We are not able to reproduce this problem.
Please tell us the exact procedure to get that.

Please try to delete the "groups.ini" file in the "Editor" directory of your lightshow folder.

Yes but now you should be able to rename the groups and they should keep their name ... no ?

No; I added all of then back in and some still do not stay in as I have added them. I'm using 6.30 beta with windows 7 - 64 bit. What happens if I delete all of the groups and put them back in will that mess up my scenes?

I have had this happen as well. Certain groups will just lose their names. It seems to be if you have a hotkey "b" and "B" or any combination of lowercase and uppercase hotkeys.

You are correct...your on to something...when you have a capital letter and a lowercase letter group then one of them will not hold the description. I did not notice that until you mentioned it. I have 4 of them and all 4 keep changing back to "group a"for an example for the description.

I just over the weekend created a completely new show from scratch. I purposely used Upper and lower case keys for my group keys. And sure enough on the keys that have an upper and a lower key, one or the other of the keys reverted to a title of Group " x" when the program editor was reopened. Two of the upper case keys and one of the lower case keys ended up changing. I think the problem lies with the upper and lower case keys. If you would like my show files just let me know and let me know how to send them.
