Hello,

Could you please try that one ?
https://download.thelightingcontroller. ... _Debug.dmg

(this is now a DMG file instead of a ZIP file)

Good news !

For an unknown reason, the Apple security procedures do not not anymore with ZIP files.
This is not really friendly to use the DMG format, but this works.

Noted.
The additional function of this lastest "debug" application is to show a message window when there is a usb communication problem.
FYI, when we hear "random crash", we first thing of usb power problem.

The USB controller is on external power backed up by a UPS.

If I understand you correctly, can we safely assume then that it's not a problem with the USB controller or connectivity to it?

Our debug program did not find any USB problem. It is certainly not able to detect all USB problems, however we are now searching in another direction.

So, thought I'd sworn off updating MacOS for a while, but here I am with 13.5.1 and LightingController 9.2.38 crashing 3 times today!

Please advise what you believe to be the most stable version combination at this point - MacOS & LightingController

Several users have your setup (MacOS) and it looks it is fine with them, otherwise, we would see a bunch of complaints here.
The main difference is the other users may not use "Companion".
BUT, we reproduced your complete here with "Companion" and we did not see any crash during 7 days.
So, the problem should come from something else.
