Macosx with sweetlight cable

Is it possible to use the sweetlight cable with parallels (windows xp) on a mac?
Or do you really have to reboot you're mac to use bootcamp?

We tried long time ago (under Leopard), and it was working.
But we can not guaranty under Mavericks, because we did not try.
