Mavericks OS

Has any one experienced a total meltdown with Mac new OS, Mavericks. I cannot get showxpress to work properly since switching last night. I have a show in three days . . .

Yes. Foolishly, I updated to Mavericks last night too, with a big lighting show coming up tomorrow. ShowXpress works for about 20-30 seconds, then hesitates, maybe responds to one more scene change and locks up. I'm using a 15" MacBook Pro Retina and everything else seems fine (so far). Luckily, I have a Mac Mini that I hadn't updated to Mavericks yet, so I loaded the show onto that and it works fine. Definitely some gremlin in the match between Mavericks and ShowXpress right now.

That is exactly what happened with me - I'm an idiot - Saw that the new operating system was free and I turned into a kid in a candy store. I've tried everything, I think that Chauvet is going to have to do a software update before this gets fixed . . . who knows how log that will take!

I've been really pleased with the response from the ShowXpress developers. Once they localize the issue, I'm sure they'll fix it very quickly. It's a shame though...I've switched over to Apple gear because Windows is generally a buggy OS. I've been amazed how easily Macs handle things that Windows laptops trip and fall over. I'm sure this is just a small hurdle. After all, ShowX works with Mavericks...just not very long.

I did the same thing with the computer at my church. Had to roll back to Mountain Lion, which is not an easy process. Basically you have to erase the HD and then install ML from a USB. Fortunately, we don't use it for anything other than lights. Unfortunately, I forgot to save all of my ShowXpress files before doing it, so I had to recreate all my light schemes. :(

I'm getting the same problem here.
Upgraded to Mavericks when it came out and now my lights wont work properly.

I dont see any issues with the software itself, but when the Xpress 512 is connected the lights run ok for about 30 seconds and then they all reset and I loose control over them for another 30 or so seconds and then I have control over them, and this repeats.
I have also noticed that the response time from clicking a scene to the light actually responding has decreased dramatically.

I ended up connecting the Xpress 512 to an old spare Macbook pro that has mountain lion on it to run my lights at a gig over the weekend.
My main computer is a 2012 Macbook Pro which i will be putting mountain lion back on it for now until these issues are fixed (hopefully soon).

Had this controller for almost a year and I've used it heavily at many DJ gigs, and this is the first time it has given me a problem.

Is this issue being looked into yet and will there be an update out soon?

See? I knew ShowX support was on top of it! Thanks...I'll try it out and see if that did the trick!
