Hi. I have been trying to learn the ShowXpress software, (latest version) and finally got to the point of connecting my iPhone.
I could not get it to connect, called tech support and was told the new version of ShowXpress had too many bugs and I should go with the last version. Which I did. Yesterday when I had the 512 interface connected, the pc link light stayed on constantly but had a rapid flicker. I could use it to control my lights from the computer.
Now today after getting everything set up with the old software, (and I did get my iPhone linked) the pc link light on the dongle goes on and off repeatedly, on for about 5 seconds then off for about 15 seconds....making the lights work when the pc link light is on, and then stop working when the pc link light goes off.

Re: 512 interface losing pc link
If your OS is Maverick, your problem is certainly this: viewtopic.php?f=10&t=2397
PS: Live Mobile works well with the current software version 7, but there is one more option in the main menu "preferences" to check: viewtopic.php?f=48&t=718

Re: 512 interface losing pc link
Thanks for the reply, I finally got it to work.
I do use the latest updated version of Mavericks but that wasn't the problem, there is no App Nap option. The issue I was having, and after calling tech help again (tech guy even had to ask for help) is that...for version 7, you have to be in the Showxpress program and click on "TheLightingController" at the top of the page to get to the menu you need. Nowhere in the instructions does it say that so I was trying to go to system preferences on my Mac.
May be obvious to do that to others...but the way the instructions are worded it wasn't to me. In fact trying to figure out how to use Showxpress has been a trial and error process.

Yes, "Preferences" and "About" in this menu are strongly suggested (forced) by MacOS.
This is effectively weird when we come from the Windows world, but it is normal for Mac users.
