So anybody knows if a broadcast mode on a subnet 255.0.0.0 can cause a laggy ArtNet response?

I was working at a festival and I noticed that the ArtNet settings were set to "Broadcast mode" on a 255.0.0.0 subnet mask.
I was surprised as I know that broadcast mode means to broadcast all the data to all the IP addresses in the network and with a setting of subnet mask of 255.0.0 ...
