Hey gang. No post from me for awhile, as I've got most stuff down, and have been off doing shows.
If you guys are doing rock type shows, you will want to see those light beams. I recently got an Antari Hazer. This one is the old (but bought new) HZ-100. It is a a true hazer. Uses oil fluid and an ...

Re: What MIDI controller do you recommend/use?
Hey gang, I've been away for awhile, which is good because it means I've not been having problems.
Zkflow, not sure what you mean. Xpress supports MIDI beautifully. Mapping MIDI is a breeze actually.
I wish it supported DMX inputs. Because you can get big multichannel DMX consoles for not much ...

Re: What MIDI controller do you recommend/use?
Earl is correct once again. On the Novation, there are sixteen additional buttons in addition to the array of 64. I use these for my effects and back spots. While I love the APC-20 (beautiful metal case, nice long travel sliders with big buttons) the deal breaker was I could not figure out how to ...

Re: What MIDI controller do you recommend/use?
After a few months of using it, I can highly recommend the Novation Launchpad. I originally wanted a console with sliders, as that's what I was used to from the old analog days. Plus I felt like one got a visual/tactile reference as to what scenes are active. I'm learning to live w/ just the visual ...

fixture reviews?
Anyone interested in creating a review data base of fixtures? I recently stumbled across a brand called Colorkey (I'm in USA, btw) I quite like them so far. Also have a couple of new units from Blizzard, which is a value leader IMHO.

Thank you for MIDI out
With MIDI out and the Launchpad it is so much easier to control live cues. While I still long for universal DMX input so I can use a cheap mulitfader DMX console this new feature is a welcome addition. Thank you programmers. Now get to work on universal DMX input!! :D

Re: Midi Buttons
I tried to change the MIDI data value to see if I could get the button to display a different color on the new Launchpad. It was a no go. Another button would light up. Clearly I'm doing something wrong. But what?? Appears to me (using Mac OS) that the MIDI out only assigns the button address ...

Re: Midi Buttons
doesn't work on APC-20. Guess something has changed with new version. Good for you. The APC is a nice piece of kit.

Re: Midi Buttons
I'm still trying to figure out how he got the LED in the buttons on the Akai to respond to the MIDI out of the software. If I could get that to work, I'd return the Launchpad and convert that cash into another light fixture. I thought it was impossible, or is it just really difficult?

Re: Midi Buttons
If you actually got the MIDI out of V7 to light up the buttons on an APC, I'd say you're doing well. I have an APC 20 and could not get it to work, so I bought a Novation Launchpad S. Earl mentioned you can change the button color on those by changing the data value on the MIDI output. I never tried ...
