V8 re-Installation does not prompt the target folder [fixed]

Postby JohnRichards » 16 August 2016, 17:04

Hi Support,
Installed the latest full install on my existing show machine to do a full test, and was alarmed that it did not prompt me as to which folder I wanted to install on. It defaulted to my V7 folder, and even though I cancelled the install, I had to move the installation to the correct folder and re-install V7.

@Support,
I would like to install V8 on my main show laptop.
How do I ensure that I can install it on my prefered folder.

We changed nothing regarding these parameters.
We could double-check this on Monday (sorry for the delay).

In the meantime, you can rename your existing folder with a unique name.
Then you will be sure the new install will not damage anything.

Just installed the latest version again, and it did not prompt for install folder, but has overwritten all files to SxV7 where version 7 is and nothing installed to my version 8 folder SxV8. Had to manually transfer, and reinstall version 7.

Yes, this is happening to me too.
When you first install the software on a device you can change the destination folder.
When there's a new update that requires you to reinstall the software you can't change the destination file.

We are now able to reproduce the problem.
Fixed in next complete software setup.
